I started out thinking I would just create a small handbook to teach some of the young women at our church the basic homemaking skills that we have failed to teach the younger generations. As I started compiling all of the other class notes I’ve written over the years, I decided to combine them all into one Tool Kit. But then, it kept growing! Every time I would pray “Lord, what else?”, He would show me another thing to add. Before long, the project became too big and needed to be broken up into two books: a study guide to pass on knowledge and tips, and a tool kit to give actual recipes and directions.

When I reached the point that I thought the books were finally complete, I prayed “Lord, what next?”. He said “YouTube”. What?! Seriously?? As I kept praying about it, He made it clear that I can only physically do so much and teach so many with the time and energy I have. To reach all those that He intended to reach with this ministry, I needed to get on social media. Now, I will confess that social media is not my thing so I know this wasn’t my own idea! However, I will follow wherever He leads. So here we are.

As I was working through the steps to create a YouTube channel, God kept showing me bigger plans. Not just a church seminar, not just a weeklong retreat, not just a YouTube channel, not just a website…. this needed to become an entire ministry. As I look back, I am astounded to see that He has been preparing this for years! When I taught sewing classes at the church, I thought I was just teaching sewing. When I taught Instant Pot classes to neighbors, friends and girl scout groups, I thought I was just passing on knowledge about a fun and useful tool. And when I was asked to lead weekly Bible Studies for my family, I thought I was just conveying God’s word in a relatable format that they could understand. Looking back, there was no “just” anywhere. God has clearly been building up this ministry for many years and only recently let me in on the plan!

God is so awesome! I pray that this ministry will be a blessing to many and glorify His name above all.

May He reveal to you that your worth is far above rubies!
